How does our journey begin at this 43rd edition of FITUR 2023?

After the pandemic, FITUR has been eagerly awaited by exhibitors, professionals and the general public.

It is undoubtedly a very important event not only for the tourism sector in itself, of great global interest, but also for our country in particular, whose geography, culture and gastronomy is diverse, rich in colours, flavours and very different among its regions, communities and even among its small towns.

The welcome of both national and foreign exhibitors was very gratifying and it is worth mentioning the special affection of countries close to our borders such as Portugal with its rich gastronomy and wines, without leaving aside distant countries well known for their hospitality such as Brazil, Thailand and India.

After a long tour of the world's geography, we spent a little more time interacting with the stands of Spanish companies and communities like Comunidad Madrid , Xunta De Galicia...

We have to admit that our stop at the stand of the Guijuelo Town Hall to interview its Mayor Roberto José Martín Benito and its Councillor for Tourism Sandra Maria Mendez Manzano, was spectacular.

Hospitable, kind, affectionate, a town deserving without a doubt of the respect, gratitude and pride of Spaniards for taking our country to such high levels, and that with a population of only 5,500 inhabitants, has managed to position itself internationally with its products.

On the morning of the 20th, representatives from the world of politics were able to taste Iberian ham from Guijuelo and strengthen ties of union, such as the national President of the Partido Popular, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, the President of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, as well as the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, also other party members such as Ana Pastor.

Also visiting the stand were the President of the Provincial Council of Salamanca, Javier Iglesias, as well as mayors from different towns in Salamanca and the Community of Madrid.

We met Roberto Yebra Méndez, CEO and Director of Ibéricos Yebra, specialists in Iberian meats and hams, whose pigs are fed on acorns, grass and natural resources during the months of the montanera, being 100% natural and whose production is sustainable, their meats are organic from certified farms and strictly comply with ecological regulations.

Guijuelo, is without a doubt, a highly recommended visit for nationals and foreigners for its high gastronomic and cultural interest.

We look forward to seeing you at the next edition!
