FITUR BRASIL AS A PARTNER COUNTRY 2025

The International Tourism Trade Fair will count for the first time with the participation of Brazil as a Partner Country of its 45th edition, to be held from 22 to 26 January 2025, organised by IFEMA MADRID. The agreement was signed at the Brazilian Embassy in Madrid by the Brazilian Ambassador to Spain, Orlando Leite Ribeiro, and the Executive Vice President of IFEMA Madrid, Daniel Martínez.

In a context of tourism growth in Brazil, which according to the latest data from Embratur has increased the number of international tourists received up to October 2024 by 13% over the same period in 2023, FITUR is presented as the key strategic scenario for developing its global positioning and boosting the potential of its diverse tourism offer.

Rio de Janeiro remains one of Brazil's most sought-after destinations, especially for its iconic scenery, with the Sugar Loaf Mountain and the statue of Christ the Redeemer, both recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The city is also noted for its world-famous beaches, such as Copacabana and Ipanema, as well as its vibrant Carnival, which is a true celebration of Brazilian culture.

2. Foz do Iguaçu: The Magnitude of the Falls and Natural Wealth

Foz do Iguaçu, located in the state of Paraná, is a destination that captivates visitors with the grandeur of the Iguaçu Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

3. Salvador: Cultural Heritage and Living History

Salvador, in Bahia, is the capital of Afro-Brazilian culture and one of the most important tourist destinations in Brazil. The historic city centre, with the Pelourinho and the Bonfim Church, is a veritable open-air museum, representing the struggle, resistance and celebration of African traditions in Brazil.

In addition, the city offers visitors immersive experiences in the local gastronomy, with typical dishes such as acarajé and moqueca, and in the popular festivals, such as the Salvador Carnival, which attracts tourists from all over the world in search of the contagious energy of music and dance.

4. Manaus: Encountering the essence of Amazonia

Manaus, located in the heart of the Amazon, is the gateway to one of the largest and most complex ecosystems on the planet. The city is famous for the Meeting of the Waters, where the Negro and Solimões rivers meet without mixing, creating an impressive natural phenomenon. The local culture, with indigenous, African and European influences, is preserved and promoted in festivals and regional cuisine.

Bonito, in Mato Grosso do Sul, offers a range of ecotourism activities, such as floating in crystal-clear rivers, visiting caves and waterfalls, as well as expeditions through the biodiversity of the Cerrado and the Atlantic Forest.

The Route of Emotions, which connects the states of Maranhão, Piauí and Ceará, is a tourist itinerary that combines adventure and culture, passing through unique landscapes such as the Lençóis Maranhenses, the Parnaíba Delta and Jericoacoara.
