IMS IBIZA SUMMIT 3 DAYS PROGRAMME

DAY 1 - WEDNESDAY 27 APRIL

 

Highlights of the first day of the IMS include the presentation of the IMS Business Report 2022, presented by David Boyle (IMS/ Audience Strategies; author of the IMS Business Report; UK). This is the official IMS analysis with data from key industry leaders as well as figures on the value of the electronic music industry. In addition, Robb McDaniels (CEO Beatport; UK/ USA) will give a talk on the awakening of the industry and how it is gearing up again after the pandemic crisis.

There will be an interview with Nastia (Artist; Nechto; Ukraine): 'United for Ukraine', where she will talk about the effects of the war and how the electronic music community can mobilise and help. Elsewhere, Tik Tok's Ole Obermann (Tik Tok; International Head of Music; UK) will discuss the professional success leadership of the platform while the Jaguar Foundation and Sony Music UK Social Justice Fund report on 'Gender Balance in UK Electronic Music' will be unveiled and we will be honoured to feature an interview with Lyor Coher, International Head of Music at YouTube & Google, talking to Pete Tong about the progression of music monetisation, distribution and viewing.

In addition, the IMS Day 1 programme includes a full agenda at IMS College, powered by Beatport, Microsoft Surface and Point Black Music School. The Art of Areté wellness and health programme at Villa Areté and a line-up of events including Networking Drinks presented by Ultra Records. Rounding off the first day will be the Legends Dinner in honour of Simon Dunmore of Defected and the official opening of IMS at Lio with Nora En Pure.

DAY 2 - THURSDAY 28 APRIL
The second day of the IMS is the day dedicated to digital issues related to 'Pixelynx Presents the Future of Music: WEB3 and Metaverse', accompanied by an introduction and overview from visionary web3 and metaverse expert, Inder Phull.


The day will cover the introduction of innovative technology companies such as Pixelynx, RCRDSHP, Alma, Miles or The Sandbox, a 3D game using blockchain, EQ Exchange, Volta, Emanate, Audius, Sensorium or Zora and explanations about the terms that flood this digital universe such as Tokens, Investments, Gaming or DAOs together with a look at legality and security by the firm Reed Smith.

In addition, we will be able to enjoy the screening of the film 'Off the Record', about the rise of techno through the eyes and ears of the great DJ and musician Laurent Garnier in his more than 30-year career.


We will also celebrate ten years of life of AFEM, the Electronic Music Association, meeting its team with the presence of Aslice (Founder/Artist; USA) with the talk 'Equalizing the Disparity between DJs and Producers'; IMS College will present 'Beyond Jpegs', a workshop to design non fungible tokens (NFT) in the field of new music and, as if that wasn't enough, Lady of the House and Shesaid. The two will be taking an innovative peer-to-peer approach dedicated to women in the industry, while entertainment lawyer Kurosh Nasseri will be interviewed to conclude the second day's programme of the 13th IMS.

DAY 3 - FRIDAY 29 APRIL

The final day of the IMS will see representatives from the Tik Tok and YouTube platforms discuss best practice and optimisation strategies for electronic music; Pete Tong will interview Brian Eno and legendary French DJ and producer Laurent Garnier; detailed case studies will reveal industry secrets; Skiddle will talk about 'Surviving 20 years in the Events Industry' and we'll look at Ibiza's new residencies for the 2022 season. There will also be a full programme of events and workshops through IMS College.

To round off the three-day conference, we will be hosting a YouTube and Beatport live streamed event at the IMS Dalt Vila World Heritage Site under the banner 'Streaming for Ukraine' to raise funds.
