FITUR Cruises 2024 will be held over 5 days, from Wednesday, 24 January through Sunday, 28 January. It will take place in a space located in Hall 4, where stands and an auditorium will be set up to hold the different activities.

The cruise sector is a tourism segment which is heavily reliant on innovation, in the creation of new experiences for cruise passengers, in models for sustainability and in the strengthening of its competitiveness and profitability. This space is offered in collaboration with CruceroAdicto.com

The cruise industry contributes substantially to local and state economies around the world. Hard hit by the pandemic, cruises have embarked on a path to reactivation based on health safety. At the beginning of the year, CLIA estimates indicated an expected 100% recovery of activity by the summer.

Blue tourism” is a tourism segment that is highly committed to environmental sustainability, protecting destinations and positive impacts on their communities. Cruise passengers spend heavily in the destinations visited and often incorporate these places into their future travel routes, feeding back into the destination's tourism demand.

CIMET AND EXCELTUR, the prelude to FITUR 2024

 

On Tuesday 23 January, the eve of FITUR, IFEMA MADRID will host two major meetings for the development of the tourism sector: CIMET and Exceltour.

These two important events will bring together the leaders of the world industry and will address the keys to meeting the challenges facing the tourism industry, as well as to lay the foundations for the tourism of the future.

 

XXVII IBERO-AMERICAN CONFERENCE OF TOURISM MINISTERS AND ENTREPRENEURS:

Under the slogan, 'Sustainability in the internalisation of the Spanish tourism company in Ibero-America', CIMET 2024 is convened by the NEXO Group with the aim of developing and improving MICE and Business Travel.

 The event will start at 9:30 a.m. in the IFEMA MADRID's South Auditorium, where different tourism ministers will showcase investment incentives and

 development plans for tourist areas in order to encourage investment by Spanish businessmen in Latin America.

 

María Valcarce, Director of FITUR, will take part in the opening ceremony, along with the Secretary of State for Tourism, Rosana Morillo.

 

Juan Molas, President of the Spanish Tourism Board, Javier García, President of the Spanish Tourism, Javier García, president of the Hotel Technological Institute and vice-president of CEHAT, José Manuel Lastra, Executive Vice-president of the Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies,  together with business representatives from Iberia, VECI, FIPROTUR and CAF.

Arancha Priede, Business Director of IFEMA MADRID, will take part in the closing session in apanel which, in addition to those mentioned above, will include Yolanda de Aguilar, Secretary of Tourism of Andalusia, and Almudena Maíllo, Councillor for Tourism of Madrid City Council, among others.

 

13TH EXCELTUR TOURISM LEADERSHIP FORUM

For its part, the twelfth edition of the Exceltur Leadership Forum will deal in depth with the challenge of achievingthe challenge of achieving greater social sustainability in order to obtain greater public empathy for tourism and tourists.

FITUR LGBT+ 2024 will highlight the importance of inclusion and diversity in tourism and diversity in tourism The section focused on the LGBT+ tourism segment will promote dialogue and collaboration among industry professionals, LGBT+ community leaders and travel lovers. 

Madrid, 16 January 2024 - The FITUR LGBT+ section returns to the International Tourism Trade Fair to show the world the richness and diversity of LGBT+ tourism.

to show the world the wealth and variety of inclusive and sustainable tourism destinations in Spain.  From 24 to 28 January, this space located in the Pavilion 9 of IFEMA MADRID will celebrate diversity and will showcase new ways to promote tourism offers that emphasise inclusivity and sustainability.

 

Under the slogan 'Connecting with Diversity', FITUR LGTB+', will be inaugurated on Wednesday 24 at 16:30 with the presence of representatives from national and local institutions. The section has an extensive programme that will showcase the importance of the tourism offerings by destinations for travellers of all identities, sustainability in this offer and specialised events for this segment.

 During the professional days, IBERIA, the main sponsor of this specialised area, will offer different presentations and forums. the weekend, the public will be able to immerse themselves in the more playful, lively and varied side of FITUR, and varied side of FITUR LGBT+ with shows and activities.

FITUR SCREEN 2024

It will show the consolidation of screen tourism as a growing trend Screen tourism, based on the attractions of destinations that host audiovisual shoots, will show its potential in the monographic section of FITUR organised by Spain Film Commission and IFEMA MADRID.

 

Spain Film Commission will present Spain Screen Grand Tour, its specific project to promote this tourism segment, and will host several round tables on the rise and impact of screen tourism.

The association will present the actress Paz Vega and Rishabh Chopra, head of international projects at Yash Raj Films, as Honorary Ambassadors of the Spain Film Commission. The VI edition of FITUR Screen will serve as a framework to showcase the collaboration between the Spain Film Commission and the UNWTO to promote screen tourism.

 

Spain Film Commission is co-organising with IFEMA MADRID the VI edition of FITUR Screen, the monographic section dedicated to screen tourism, which will have a 99 m2 space in Pavilion 10 on 24, 25 and 26 January 2024, the three professional days of the International Tourism Trade Fair. In this space, it will offer a personalised networking area and will host an intense programme focused on the promotion of screen tourism. 

 

This new edition takes on the challenge of contributing to making Spain a global audiovisual hub and aims to become a platform for connecting the tourism and film industries through the dissemination of knowledge about screen tourism, commercial exchange between the different players and the formulation of future proposals for the development of this sector in Spain.

FITUR Screen will have its own space, which includes an exhibition area with the offerings of various participating agents, a B2B area and an area for the conference programme.

 

Different partners of the Spain Film Commission will participate in the 2024 edition, which will offer, over three days, an extensive programme of activities. Over these three days, FITUR Screen will hold three round tables on trends in screen tourism and the importance of this powerful tourism promotion tool for territories that have been filming locations.

In addition, the awards for Ambassadors of Spain Film Commission 2024 and Best Production Spain Film Commission 2023 will be presented.

 

Finally, the collaboration between the Spain Film Commission and the UNWTO (World Tourism Organization) for the promotion of screen tourism will also be presented.

In previous years, "La casa de papel", "La peste", "The Crown", "Maixabel" and "Voy a pasármelo bien" received this same award, which has been consolidated in the editions held to date as a prestigious benchmark in the national and international audiovisual sector.
