THE WORLD CHOOSES MADRID
FITUR 2026 TAKES OFF AFTER BREAKING GLOBAL TRAVEL RECORDS

With 5% growth in global tourism and 1.1 billion travellers in the last year, IFEMA MADRID's major event is preparing for its most ambitious edition yet.
MADRID – The engine of the world never stops, and its next destination already has a date and place. From 21 to 25 January, IFEMA MADRID will become the epicentre of the planet with the celebration of FITUR 2026.
This 46th edition is not just another trade fair; it is the symbol of an industry that has achieved the unthinkable: overcoming the limits of recovery to enter an era of unprecedented expansion.
According to the latest data from ONU Tourism, the sector is experiencing a ‘spectacular’ moment. With a 5% increase in international arrivals through September 2025, the world has mobilised 1.1 billion tourists. In this context of euphoria, FITUR stands as the control tower where the future of global travel will be decided.
Hall 12: The ‘brain’ of global tourism.
This year's great revolution has a name: the Knowledge Pavilion. For the first time,
Hall 12 will be transformed into an innovation bunker where technology and strategy go hand in hand.

"FITUR 2026 not only showcases destinations; it designs the future. The 50% growth in the Travel Technology area is proof that the sector no longer just sells landscapes, but cutting-edge solutions."
With more than 150 technology companies from 20 countries, this space will host critical forums such as FITUR TechY and the FITURNEXT Observatory, addressing topics ranging from applied artificial intelligence to responsible tourism.
A city within a city
The scale of FITUR 2026 is overwhelming. More than 10,000 companies covering the entire value chain are expected to participate, from accommodation and transport giants to public administrations and disruptive start-ups.
The official agenda is set in stone:
21 January: Doors open for professionals.
22 January: Official opening (key day for institutional relations).
24 and 25 January: The ‘Great Tourism Festival’, when the venue opens to the general public to win over the end traveller.
Real sustainability: Less footprint, more connection
FITUR 2026 will not only talk about ecology in its conferences; it will apply it in its accesses. The organisation has sent a strong message about smart mobility, reinforcing the use of Madrid's public transport network. The objective is clear: to ensure that the economic impact of the fair does not translate into a negative impact on the planet.
Madrid is once again, in its own right, the world capital of tourism. For five days, the IFEMA Pavilion will be the place where contracts are signed, destinations are discovered and ideas are forged that will move the next billion travellers.
FITUR 2026 is here to prove that, when it comes to tourism, Madrid is unrivalled.
