Nick Newman’s life is much like his music. The words that leap to mind are
organic and original. Born and raised in a small town in rural England, it was never
his intention to become a musician, a producer. Nick’s passion was instead
centered around martial arts, basketball, and track and field.

This isn’t to say that

music wasn’t an important presence in his life. During his teenage years, Nick
discovered the world of DJing, as he loved the raw energy of Happy Hardcore
played by DJ Slipmatt. However, it was sports that guided his early life and sent
him on a journey across the Atlantic Ocean.

Nick began his self-exploratory journey into music production in 2012 upon
retiring from athletics. With no formal musical training, he spent countless hours
studying and experimenting with sound design and mixing techniques, he slowly
established a style unique to him. A few years later, he released his first songs
under the alias of SeamLess Beat. The dark and moody music culminated in the
release of his album, Colors, by the legendary British label JOOF Recordings.

During the next several years, his sound evolved into a new and melodic
style which was revealed in January 2019 when he shook off his pseudonym and
began releasing as Nick Newman. He felt his music had finally achieved the sound
he had envisioned at the outset of his artistic journey.

Putting Nick’s music into words requires some imagination. His trademark sound
– often melancholy and sad – somehow coexists with a sense of happiness in
a sometimes-ominous world of abstract sounds, half-broken beats, and deep
basslines. His is a truly original signature that captivates all who intensely listen.

The result is an unparalleled voyage into deep organic house, ambient, techno,
progressive house, and electronica – all depending on his mood of the moment.
Since releasing as Nick Newman, a host of influential artists have become true
admirers of his music. His songs have been released on labels such as Armadillo
Music, Manual Music, The Soundgarden, Sudbeat Music, RYNTH,
and others.

In 2020, he released his debut album under Nick Newman, titled Wonder of
You. This contained the hit single “Nostalgia,” which exemplifies his
trademark style and reached over one million plays on Spotify and other
platforms.

In addition to “Nostalgia,” songs such as “Hysteria” and “When
Dusk Falls
” also became favorites of industry-great Guy J. This led to EP
requests and releases on Guy’s highly-acclaimed label, Armadillo Records.
Singles such as “Memories,” “Serenity,” “Tempting Fate,” “Robotica,” and
Momentum” showcase Nick’s passion for the dance floor, while others
display his love for the emotional content of electronic music.

His single “Escape” on RYNTH is a perfect example of how his signature sound
is tailor-made for film soundtracks. The world of organic house and
electronica represent a true match for his rich creativity.

With support expanding all over the globe and more listeners becoming
enchanted by Nick’s approach toward electronic music – whether it be in a
club setting or while simply relaxing – expect DJs such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J, Gai Barone, Pablo Bolivar, Kora, and more to showcase his songs.

Nick has recently completed his third artist album. Childhood, another
stunning manifestation of self-expression, will be released in late 2024 on
Armen Miran’s Hoomidaas Records. The album features brand new music
and is accompanied by bonus soundscape interpretations of each track.

The future is bright for Nick Newman.

His own label is set to launch in 2025, and one can expect a focus on a melancholy vibe featuring his trademark sound, as well as new singles on major labels which offer deeper exploration into Nick’s magical musical world.

The Book of Music has only just started to be written for this British- born
producer.
